Carmel, Indiana-based developer Leo Brown Group presented plans for a Mission Revival-style campus featuring a three-story independent living wing along with dedicated assisted living and memory care buildings, a shared kitchen and dining area, pool, and courtyard space. The "age-in-place" design would let residents move between care levels without leaving the campus. The company is also requesting a parking deviation, about 100 fewer spaces than Estero's standard requirement, citing a planned shuttle service and lower expected demand from memory care and independent living residents.
What the Planning Board Said
Board members recommended the developer soften the building's appearance and add more trees and courtyard landscaping before the project advances further. The plan remains in the design review stage and is likely to change before any construction application is filed.
Where It Fits Among Other Senior Communities
If it moves forward, Mission Grove would join a growing list of age-in-place communities in the area, including Keystone Place at Bonita Springs and Siena Lakes in North Naples. Leo Brown's only other Florida project, Mission Grove at Stoneybrook, opened this year in Winter Garden.
